how to access

1. choose with your tutor the type of machining

If you want to use the machines in the DRILLING Lab, first check with your tutor that they are suitable for the work to be carried out and the materials to be used.

2. ask to be trained to use the machines

In this space you can work independently, but before entering the DRILLING Lab ask to be trained from a member of staff. You will be informed, trained and instructed in the safe use of the machines present and we will ask you to sign the form to certify that you have been trained. Only after signing will you be able to work in this space.

safety

The equipment in the DRILLING Lab is CE-certified and equipped with safety devices, however, we ask you to always work according to the training you have received and strictly adhere to the rules displayed in the safety signs.

Do not wear scarves, necklaces, earphones with wires or loose clothing that could interfere with the movement of the machines and cause accidents. For the same reason, if you have long hair, it is compulsory to tie it up. Do not take computers, bags, backpacks and jackets with you into the DRILLING Lab in order not to clutter up the space and obstruct other users during work.

We recommend that you work wearing an FFP2 mask to protect your respiratory tract, especially when using sanding machines.

Remember to always turn on the dust or fume aspiration system and open the damper corresponding to the aspiration tube or hood of the machine you want to use.

In the event of a fault or breakage switch the machine off and call a member of staff.

During cutting and sanding operations keep the surrounding work area clean and tidy. Never walk away from the machine leaving it switched on.

At the end of machining operations, dispose of waste in the appropriate bins. When working with wood, clean the working area and the machine from residual dust using the vacuum tube.

When you have finished cleaning, close the damper of the aspiration system connected to the machine you have been using and, if you are the last to leave the room, also switch off the dust or fume extraction line.
